yahoo! alerts (CA= vote NO on 8!!)

so, about 'say.... 7 years ago i became a melissa fan, and created the only yahoo! alert ever.. and it was anything MLE related... so i get them, read the headline, and close the box. Sometimes the headlines are interesting, and I'll read them. Sometimes they are a mention of her in reference to an event, whatever. But lately, they are all about "etheridge to wed girlfriend" and i know tammy made some blog about this topic.

but... the statement the media is making now is pissing me off. basically... they are turning a couple who has been MARRIED for years invalidated somehow because the law wouldnt recognize that marriage. because that poor couple had to bend over sideways and backwards and maintain a legal team for every move just to try and create something that was almost equal to marriage, yet which can always be argued as against public policy.

so now, CA has decided it is AGAINST THE CONSTITUTION to discriminate and deny any citizen the equal rights guaranteed to others.... and some blind ignorant FAMILY ppl have decided to modify an 150 or so yr instrument to combine DISCRIMINATION AND HATE into it... something that even 100 years ago people knew was not what america stood for.... and now the stupid media is enhancing the unequal treatment of homosexuals by STRIPPING the wife label.

i feel the same way in my life.

suddenly, i cant say wife because NOW you want to say i can get that legal document..but you know what.. NOW i already got married and do not feel like i need to go get married AGAIN becuase this time u want to acknowledge it..NOPE..i want MY MARRIAGE to be validated!!! so... i sure hope PROPOSITION 8 DOES NOT pass... because I plan to fight the fact that my marriage existed prior to May 2008. SO... please.. VOTE NO ON PROP 8....

and media.. can you please give her back the label she has had for many years..they are wife and wife... yes.... thats ok.... and look, nothing has changed in YOUR life. gay people will always be around, gay people will always be in relationships, and gay people should always have the right as others to enter into marriage which is a legal status and has nothing to do with what HATE your religion PERSUADES you is ok. :(
